Griffin
My Gold girls are 18 weeks old now and were posing nicely on the chooks table (we don't use it anymore!) this morning so I took some photos of them. Bridget (left) and Francesca preening: Francesca: They're still great big mummys girls at heart and are jealous of their new baby brothers and sisters. They were reared under Tiger Lily, our Silkie and she's recently hatched some baby Polands. The Brahmas still can't believe their mum doesn't want to know them anymore and they spend a lot of time next to Tiger Lilys run or just sitting on top of it to get a better look at their beloved Bridget waiting for her mum:

Janty
I love the way brahmas look like birds of prey...they have that 'I'm going to eat you' look about them. When we had the two brahma cockerels, hubby always feared for his nether regions on entering the garden.
Griffin
I love their bird of prey faces too Bridget is comedy chook at the moment, she's having a growth spurt and her legs make her about six inches taller than her sister The pair of them are joined at the hip and are utterly devoted to each other. They're so funny in the mornings because when I let them out they have a stretch, flap their wings and do a bit of a dance and gallop up the garden, terrfying others in the process
Janty
It was my brahma boys that cured the cat of his stalking activities. They grabbed him by the fur and ran down the garden after him still holding onto his side. Poor Sausage.
Patricia W
I love them! You must let us know how they get on with your Polands. Tricia
Griffin
They get on fine with Olive, probably because the Brahmas are so quiet natured and mind their own business while Olive lives in a world of her own and every one of my chickens ignores her anyway. I don't think they realise she's a chicken I'm very lucky with my lot, they're so used to being part of a large flock "Ooops, word censored!"ody causes any bother. There's still a pecking order, the top girls have to be respected but lower down the scale they're all equals.
Janty
I think that is the great thing about having a large flock. Mine are the same. I can honestly say that I only have three hens that are outcasts in the sense that they do not get picked on but they choose to distance themselves from the others. These are my son's mad RIR minis and the mini Orp.
