Harriet88
Hi everyone, I wondered if anyone had any ideas as to what would be best to put down to keep the chooks from getting muddy feet? We have a large, covered, fixed run so can't move it around to keep it on fresh grass and unfortunatly they don't free range properly because of predators (we live surrounded by 600 acres of wooland and found out the hard way) Thanks! sjp
I use cushionbed it's a woodchip horse bedding similar to easibed my lot like digging in it http://www.giffords.biz/bed/bed1.htm
JanTheDiver
I use Elephant Grass, it seems to stay dry but I do have most of the run covered over, but there are small open bits and that isn't getting muddy. I got mine from my local hen supplier, but I do know a lot of people haven't heard of it when I ask.
speckled hen
I use easi-bed or something similar depending on what the supplier has in, it is great stuff and lasts around 10 weeks before it needs changing.

Redwing
Woodchip? If its well sheltered and well covered then the horse beddings are good If its more wet than dry then go for Woodchip
