Convince me to buy a Cube!

Recommended Posts

I am thinking of upgrading from my fantastic little Eglu to a Cube. My OH thinks I'm balmy as we only have two chickens (he doesn't know I'm planning to add to the flock next year! Now it's getting colder and they won't be free ranging very much, I thought a Cube would be great for extra room/perches etc. I've read some stuff about draughts and not being as good, I just need convincing that it's money well spent? :)

I had 2 eglus before the cube. The eglus are still fantastic, but the advantages of the cube are:

- room for more chickens

- my chickens prefer to roost up high so prefer it - and they use the nest box whereas they hated going to bed in the eglu and laying eggs there

- its easier to look after as its waist height.

Others can add to that I'm sure - but I'm keeping my eglus as well

The Cube is great, and the main reason I got one was because of the larger run, it will give your chooks much more space especially in winter if they can't get out as much.

I am actually planning to swop back to an Eglu, because I can't fit the Cube and a WIR into the space where I want the WIR to be, but that's the only reason - the Cube is marvellous for all the reasons listed above.

3.gifWatch the pendulum.... you are going to buy a cube, you are going to buy a cube, you are going to buy a cube, you are going to buy a cube..................................:lol: sorry it was the title..

I have a cube and love it but not tried an eglu or wooden. It's lines are beautiful, its cosy for the girls and has loads of room for them. The nest box and roosting area are at waist height and easy to access. It's fun configuring the run and you have room to put perches and things in the run.....................go on :D

I love my cube, never regretted it once. I have just got an eglu but thats for my new bantams. i have a wooden house too which i bought when i got 6 new girls, I had five in the cube. When we put them in the WIR all 11 chickens went into the cube and stayed there! But they do have plenty of room in the WIR.

The cube is sooo easy to keep clean and look after, I havent had any leaks and Im sure its not draughty - get one - you wont regret it :D
