jomeena
Three foxes are hanging around at the bottom of our garden, they dont seem bothered by myself or the dog. We have a foxwatch, used the pee method also a farting gnome but they just keep coming back. In the mornings i see pawprints all over the top of the eglu, its driving me nuts. I never leave the girls out alone but they must get scared when they hear the foxes at nite. Sorry just needed a rant.
Missus
I can understand your concern and you're right to be worried. My girls were dragged out of the Eglu and mauled, but rescued by my husband thank goodness I have Foxwatch too but don't rely on it. I have a walk-in run being made and it's being installed on Friday and it should be fox proof so the girls will be able to have more freedom of movement at last
CluckyBucks
Try lion poo maybe? The farting gnome Ive heard that foxwatches arent always reliable, so i agree with Missus. Hope you find something soon xx xx

WarrensWorld
Hans, Knees, Boomps and Daisy, the farting Gnomes. On the left is Knees and Boomps is on the right. They've a motion detector in them when someone or something goes past them..........Lets just say they break wind with gusto. Put them in the toilet at parties good for a laugh..... Tigerfrogg
This is just an idea but if the foxes are all over the coop what about trying some old fashioned mouse traps with a fox treat on it wont kill the foxes but a few pain full slaps on the nose may make the foxes realise hanging around your chickens is not a great idea anything at this point is worth a go if fox watch or your Gnomes aren't doing there job. Egluntyne
**Get off My Garden** has had a few good write-ups. I can't bear the smell of it myself, so if it has the same effect on foxes............

jomeena
Have tryed the get off my garden. The dog ate it and was very sick. Spent most of the weekend shooting rubber bands at the fox. ( im a rotten shot so i wont harm them ). Had a few hours out with the girls and dog earlyer and no sign of them so far today. Do you mean silent roar when you said try lion poo ? Or is that something totaly different ? Sorry about the farting gnome, im so common.

BillH
Wow, you have my sympathies: one fox is bad enough, but three... It's not much use, really, but I just found the Fox Project Web page, which mentions a water-driven gadget, called "Scarecrow". I had not heard about it before now, but it might be worth investigating. Many years ago I caved in to my then young children's request to camp in the back garden one night. Because of the rural location and their ages I slept in the tent with them. Well, they slept soundly, totally oblivious to the wretched fox who kept me awake most of the night as he circled the tent. I was not amused. Actually it was quite scary being woken periodically by a sniffing animal on the other side of the canvas, a few inches away from my head. sandyhas3chucks
you could knock up a tempory run type box over the Eglu, theu won't have to har them trying to get inthe Eglu. I wonder if foxes would dislike ucadex?
Olly
. I wonder if foxes would dislike ucadex? hard to imagine anything not disliking it! When mine was delivered at work I showed it to a colleague who used to farm, and he immediately said 'Oh, that's Renardine' - he said they used to spray it on lambs to keep the fox off, so I'd guess it would work. sandyhas3chucks
that's intersting, got a long thin garden and don't sit out now so will spray ucadex at appropriate points see if I can keep them from thinking about it. i don't think it is too vile!
