As having a problem getting to.

 

A. See Girlies except weekends as working and they seem to want to sleep

 

B Clean them.

 

Have just had a cunning plan Phoned omlet and ordered spare set of roosing bars and dropping tray... SO I can just slide it in and out ( in the dark )

Keep them clean and they wont even know .

you'll need to disturb them to change the roosting bars as they sit on the base not the droppings tray but you can change the roosting bars through the front door or eggport so you would just need to turf the hens out for a minute, I do this and they act like grumpy teens mind

 

The dspare roppings tray is a good idea though

Yes, Dropping tray is the main thing that I was worried about so really please with that idea, Roosting bars were an extravagant extra but just thought was a good idea even just for drying time at weekend.

Sorry but I just take the droppings tray out if they are inside, empty it and put it back. They don't seem to bother.

We've got a headlamp & can see to change things in the dark. It looks like a miner going down the garden but leaves both hands free

Didnt think of that

But I do put newspaper in the bottom and then hempcore and red mite powder and do like to give it a wash, so would take about 10mins in dark wet and cold, and what if they then had pooed on base !!!!
