clootie
Morning all !! DD has a very swollen neck this morning, at her jawline and under her ears but it doesn't feel like glands to me. It's very painful but she doesn't feel unwell at all she says. Waiting for the surgery to open at 8.30am to get her checked out. It's been years since she's been to the doc and she aint happy to go, wants to go to school. Have a good day all

Valkyrie
Morning all. Poor DD, Clootie. It was always the opposite here - "have I got a temperature?" no "I don't want to go to school" I know "hate you mum" I love you too. Didn't end up at the garden centre - after doing something very odd with the milk bottle (and I can't even remember what it was) while making tea I thought I'd better not drive if I was that tired! Then I had to do a Mrs Doyle again. This time a new older man I'd not met before. Murray says "can you make a tea and a black coffee" - me dirty look So I do a black coffee and go and ask if he has sugar, no thank you but I would rather have a tea. So I decide to have the coffee instead and make a mug of tea. Oh I don't have milk in tea. Slightly fuming. Boil kettle - again. Black tea. Murray then tips the black coffee away - so I DON'T GET A DRINK AT ALL! ARGHHHHHHH!

Valkyrie
I forgot to say I hope DD is feeling much better later today once she's seen the doc - hopefully it will be sorted out. Has she had her mumps jabs - I remember that well - I had a pale green chiffon scarf (with big white polka dots) tied round my head. Don't know whether it helped, but I thought it did. Then a schoolfriend came to play because her mum wanted her to catch it from me. Enjoy, Clootie.

PurpleTree
Hope your DD feels better soon Clootie. My mum decided a while back that I must've had mumps as a child, she was looking at some photos and thought I looked swollen around the jaw and neck, she can vaguely remember me seeming a bit ill at the time too. She was obviously really worried about me then My gran is coming out of hospital later this afternoon, so that's good news. Hopefully she's feeling much better. She's been feeling really down this last week, due to feeling ill and missing my Grampy (he died in January). Lewis, I couldn't think of anything I wanted for my 18th either. i just went to the pub with my friends, complete with a birthday cake. My parents bought me a half hour flying lesson, something I hadn't even thought about, but it was really cool. I'm now trying to think if I want to do anything for my 30th (I'm sure it wasn't that long ago I was 18)

PurpleTree
Gran's home Squeak's started limping over the last couple of days, it's not stopping her doing anything though. Don't know if I should be doing something about it. Had a look at her, couldn't see anything obvious. Wondering if she's slipped or landed awkwardly
Valkyrie
Good news for Gran, not so good news for Minimeclootie. Never mind, I don't remember feeling unwell with it, just uncomfortable - ice cream and jellllllyyyyyyyy. I remember very clearly being given pineapple pieces and not being able to eat them because the sharpness went right up around my ears! Probably more so than bitter lemony/vinegary things usually did. And my nan was around and drew a picture of me on the blackboard - I had it for years until my brother wiped it off - and I nearly throttled him for it. I'm sure she'll soon be over it before you know it. At least she won't be poking her tongue out for a while - oochie! So here's an ice cream - don't bother with the cornet - chewing can be awkward too. Sorry Claire - I got turfed off before I could make you a cuppa. Nearly fainted with shock today - first 2 eggs in one day for yonkers! It's definitely Squirt. Poor Squeak - perhaps she slipped in the mud - after all this wet - I did yesterday did a Torville and Dean. Whaheeeey! Got minus 10 points though.
