Ziggy
It looks like there is hope for my 3-year-old packleader... my daughter came with me to feed Charlie today, and at first he seemed to be about to jump at her again (mind you, he's about as high as she is now, won't need to jump much longer, soon he'll be looking down at her ), but with one VERY stern word from me he fell back and sat down... she then called him for a cuddle and he walked to her, fussed around her and let her stroke and hug him without jumping up!! Following that, she fed him a bit of his lunch from her hands, then put the rest of his lunch in the bowl, and as he dashed forward (which he never does with me or other elder kids or OH), she put her hand up as I've been showing her and with the strongest voice and deepest frown she said 'no Charlie, stay!!' and the pup just stared, slowed down and put his bum back on the floor, watching her intently and waiting, until she said 'come on boy, come eat'.... It was fantastic!!!!

hillfamily
How lovely Is she available for puppy training My Sam manages to keep his bum on the floor until the bowl is about 2 inches off the ground...you can see him visibly shaking with anticipation It is an improvement...when we first got him...he would be so excited by his dinner that he would virtually knock the bowl out of your hand
The Dogmother
that is marvellous Ziggy! Your perseverance is paying off Be consistent though as they forget some of their training when they hit the teens at about 8 months - a bit like toddlers forgetting potty training
