Falkor
My two little Japenese ladies seem to be floor dwelling creatures They have a 1m cube run section to themselves. They have a little wooden house with a perch which they ignore and both cram themselves into the corner on the floor. They have ladders, a shoe rack and various perches but I have nver seem them leave the comfort of the hemcore on the floor. They have treat balls hanging as enticement which go untouched. If they really don`t perch then I will put them back in the rabbit run and extend the bantams run again............
Redwing
I've read that they dont perch and shouldnt be encouraged to do so Hopefully someone with practical experience of them will be along soon though
Falkor
mmmm. I have read that too but also just looked at the UK club website and it says perches can be provided in the house....... CLARET!!!!!!!
tom123
No, like pekins japanese should either have extremely low perches on the ground or not at all (like eglu bars). Tom
Lewis
Babs the pekin always used to go to the highest perch, about 2 foot high, and always slept up there, and they always perch at the farm if they have them in their run ... you can never see their feet when they're all in a line Not sure about Japs though, if they don't seem to want them a rabbit run sounds fine
tom123
My pekins love to perch too, and in trees however I have read in a few old books that they should have low perches as they can't jump down from heights
