In our house we regularly shout 'Scorchio!' in warm weather

and...

'Today, I will be mostly wearing...' :D

Monty Python - my kids know the 'Black Knight' sketch backwards... 'it's only a flesh wound' is our standard response to any bump or graze.

Also 'Your mother was a hamster and your father smelt of elderberries'. I'd rather they insulted people like that than using some of the other playground vocab!

We also sing snatches from songs at appropriate moments... putting the kettle on? 'So Fred and me had another cup of tea...'

I sometimes wonder why OH and I ever got together as we don't really share the same sense of humour. The children and I will often quote Monty Python at each other at appropriate points and fall about laughing. OH will look dumb at us.

Similiarly, if we are on the motorway with a huge queue on the other side we will look knowingly at each other and say, "Something must have happened." OH will go, "of course it has, what are you talking about!"

A couple of other favourites in our house, "Totally bona fido." "It's the government, Run ET, run!"

When I am playing golf and do a rubbishy shot which works quite well I will mutter, "That'sll do donkey, that'll do." much to the bemusement of my playing partner.
