Valkyrie
I see blue sky - but clouds building up so it won't be sunny for long. Quite chilly too, although it was very hot in the night.
The Dogmother
I see blue sky - but clouds building up so it won't be sunny for long. Quite chilly too, although it was very hot in the night. So it wasn't just my hormones then! Chilly here today, but after the last few days, I wouldn't trust it at all!
chickencam
Lots of fast moving clouds, with some sunshine. Rain forecast for this evening, which is annoying because we wanted to go to the allotment, to plant our cauliflowers and harvest a few things to take away with us, might have to go tomorrow evening now, maybe pack tonight instead. Valkyrie
@ Claret. I was beginning to think it was mine until OH chucked the covers off! All grey and cold now. It did warm up around 10 but by 10.30 it had all changed, quite breezy too.
The Dogmother
It'll rain soon enough Val - I have washing on the line and can't get home to take it in
chickencam
It was very dark at 2pm and I made DS mow the lawn before he had his lunch, I don't think I am very popular. It is still much the same now, but still dry, will my washing dry????
Valkyrie
It's an odd day, every now and then the sun tries to break through and when it does it's quite warm. I think the rain is supposed to be out west so you might be lucky with the washing.
chickenNutter
Really close and warm here today, but grey and damp as just about every other day has been here this summer We seem to live ina perpetual Autumn here in the north west. It is making me want to leave the north west entirely. Which part of the UK statisticly has the best summers then? (just wondering where to retire to). kerryegg
Same here, August!!!!!!!!!!!. Road flooding and not very warm. chickens are not happy. Could be worse, could be on a camping holiday. At least the veg don't need watering. Perhaps we will have a bar-be-cue winter this year. Ever hopefully, soggy Herefordshire.
Valkyrie
Grey, windy and lots of fine drizzle. It was raining a bit out towards Whitchurch (Hampshire). Sun has tried and failed.

chickenNutter
So it's not Oxfordshire Herefordshire Birmingham or Hampshire I'm retiring to then? Any reports from East Anglia?
The Dogmother
Well, the east certainly tends to be a bit drier!
Christian
Forecast was for sun today and highs of 25C. I planned to go raspberry picking at a local GYO, but it has rained all day
Valkyrie
Cor, Christian - it's actually been dry here ever since. Certainly the other side of Basingstoke had huge puddles. Hasn't dampened the ground here because the wind has dried it all. But it is still grey and windy though.
ClaireG
Very muggy here, raining on and off and quite widy to.

chickenNutter
Valkyrie, what is it like in Valhalla? Better summers there?
Valkyrie
Thor's out somewhere in Wales earlier on, so pretty much dry here - we get a bit of midnight sun anyway. Don't know where he's lurking now. Other than that Dad (Odin) is being a bit frosty at the moment, well you would with the blinking trolls playing up. The Nibelung have been messing around again so he's well not pleased. Of course I am the perfect ray of sunshine in myself - the sisters are bickering a bit. The old warriors are boozing again, so it's better to be outside than in.
Old Speckled Hen
Rained till about 7pm when we got a brief glimpse of sunshine. This guy sat sheltering on the balcony for ten minutes this afternoon when it was really raining hard.
