jellykelly
I have just been browsing the net and found this website. The layers mash with bokashi sounded quite nice so I placed an order and brought loads. Has anyone else tried this and have your chickens turned their beaks up at it?? Thanks BTW - I made a Pecka block today courtesy of Raina's recipe - it smelt lovely as it was drying off. If it wasn't for the mealworms, I may well have had a nibble. PeckyBeak
I've bought the Bokashi from them for some time. they deliver quite quickly usually within a week. It smells lovely, I usually mix it in with their mash at 1 scoop Bokashi to 3 scoops mash, a dash of garlic granules and a couple of teaspoons of poultry spice. Also put it in their porridge mix that I make for them on cold days.
sandyhas3chucks
I tried the mix, didn't like it too fine and dust, I do as others and by the bran, they love it on it's own as a treat
LunaKiw1
WE use them for okashi. Bought one bag first time round and it was great. Bought 3 bags the next time thinking to save money in bulk but the second bag did develop mould in it so think maybe you can't keep them as long as we need to with only two chooks. So might best just buying one at a time.
alij
I buy the layers mash from wiggly wigglers and all my girls love it Each morning there's the sound of contented clucking and everything else I've offered in the past is left. They all look great and today was my first 5 egg day Edna my pekin bantam Margot my naked neck Gloria my wyandotte bantam They've all come on really well since being on this mash Ali
grracee
BTW - I made a Pecka block today courtesy of Raina's recipe - it smelt lovely as it was drying off. If it wasn't for the mealworms, I may well have had a nibble. I also made one of them today from the recipe I saw that Raina put up, was pleased with the outcome and so were the chickens! I didn't put any mealworms in though, didn't think of that, my chickens do love them though so perhaps that will be an idea for the next time! Falkor
I use Wigglys for their Bokashi and occasionaly live meal worms! Mix it in with their Garvo and they love it! I did try the mash and Bokashi mix but as previously posted I found it very dusty...the girls would eat the chunky bits and leave the finer stuff so I would end up throwing a lot out which proved to be expensive! I think the idea of mash is that it takes longer to eat, fills crop etc but as they were leaving half of it I couldn`t be sure that they were getting all the nutrients needed so i changed to a chunkier mash (garvo) and they get pellets too! Wigglys customer service and delivery are great though! They do a chicken starter kit which i brought for a friend and she LOVED it!

Will have to pop down one day as everyone seems to rate them.I've met the owner when I was working, very nice person.

Little Clucker
All my girlies absolutely lurve the layers mix and love adding it to their reserve bowls of water to make their own porridge! My new brahma boy is a little confused as he was fed on pellets and can't get the hang of the grub so he gets his own bowl which he very generously deigns to share with the girls (and even lets the bunnies have a sniff) I love it, its so easy and when you make hot mash it smells like fresh bread! yum AAAAND I've found it makes their poos compst down quicker than before; not as many curry poops either since I've switched
Janty
I use the layers mash with bokashi from WW and my girls love it. They have a sort of porridge made up every morning from it.
jellykelly
I hope it arrives soon. My bag of pellets is nearly empty!! I'm looking forward to un-smelly poo!
chick wiggle
I have WW bokashi too and yes they love it. If you want none smelly poos, get some garlic powder and put a couple of teaspoons in their food, it works like magic! it sort of neutralises the smell and if you get it from your horsey supllier its very cheap too and no, your eggs wont smell or taste garlicky!
