Old Speckled Hen
Dreaming you are naked shows that you are feeling vulnerable or frightened of something. It's a common pre-exam dream. Or it could foretell some scandal

Looney
Not how I might dress to go to the supermarket (although I do often look like I got dressed in the dark at a jumble sale ) but c'mon, live and let live? I had a dream a while ago that I was half naked in the supermarket, the bottom half

Old Speckled Hen
But where do you draw the line? We laugh at The Royle Family for the slobs we might so easily be and at the Waynes and Waynettas thanking God secretly that we and our children drew more out of the gene pool. We put on a face for the outside world and making an effort to get out of our PJs to face that world is part of showing respect for it. Perhaps "gulping" at an obese lady at the check out may be uncalled for but there are plenty of people ... Dawn French springs to mind ... who are equally rotund but dress beautifully. They make the effort out of respect for themselves and others. Edited typo

Edited typo Well said OSH And I myself am one of those equally rotund people, but would always make an effort to wear appropriate clothes when out in public. Sure,I slob around in my dressing gown at home, but would NEVER in public,& would be shocked & saddened to see anyone in nightwear in the supermarket. I don't think anyone here is being inappropriately judgemental,& certainly not lording it over others or being cruel.........we are just shocked that nightwear is being worn in public, during the day, when it would be just as easy to actually get dressed.,seeing as how she has put make up,jewellery & underwear on

The Dogmother
The Boy reports having seen a full set of PJs (no coat) and fluffy cartoon character slippers in the local Morrisons yesterday... at 4pm in the afternoon I understand that she had omitted her 'supporting undergarments' and the poor boy didn't know where to look! henriette
But where do you draw the line? Ah ha! One of life's most important questions Added to which, the line is often very, very fine Don't think I'm intelligent enough to take it any further I have to confirm one thing though, any comment I have made has not been cruel nor do I think anyone else has been. I make observations and say what I like and what I don't like that's all.

Lesley
I suppose it's an emotive subject and people are never going to agree on everything. I'll have to disagree......I don't think anyone has been cruel or rude and not even totally judgemental....... I think we should be shocked that going out in public in this manner should be seen as acceptable............whatever happens in the privacy of peoples own homes. Snide remarks about moderating are uncalled for - this forum is a comfortable place to be compared to most other forums. Edit : comments were made re moderating, but have now been removed. Helly Welly
I have to see i'ma bit surprised that we are considered to be being cruel. Everybody makes judgements on everybody else, it's human nature. All we are asking is that people have some common decency, going out shopping in pyjamas and no underwear is not appropriate in a modern society. And all the moderators do a fab job. And also, please remember that not all forum members are adults, we have quite a lot of children on here, my DD included, who is only 10. Woodcat
i have to admit that i have worn my slippers to the super market once in my defence it was because i'd slipped and smashed my foot into the wall and it was swollen and so painful that putting slippers on hurt let alone trying to get it into my trainers or boots and it was 11:30 at night. i would add i was fully dressed over the slippers and they were the sort with proper soles. i don't really understand why you would want to wear Pjs out i hate wearing them i don't even wear them round the house they just make me feel sleepy
