ali-s
Just got back form Lidl. I bought 2 packs of the cotton yarn, an orange pack and a blue pack. I feel the need to knit a dishcloth today Also bought a 440g ball of the Sensatione yarn in blue, the yarn feels lovely and soft. It knits up into a fairisle type pattern. A 400g ball should be enough for a size 10/12 ladies jumper according to the ball band, not bad for £5.99. The jumper will be good for when I am outside gardening and chickening. On the Lidl website the yarn should include a pattern for a ladies jumper, mine seems to be missing Guess I will be taking it back later and hopefully exchange it for one with a pattern, failing that hopefully I can find a pattern somewhere else to use. A chickychickychick-ENN!!
I somehow got convinced I needed this. I haven't even made dishcloths before. So I've actually been counting down the days. I was all excited, got up ready to go. But... it's snowing and it would involve a half hour walk and a half hour train each way. I'm not going today. ali-s
Returned to Lidl yesterday afternoon with the huge ball of yarn. None of the other balls had a pattern included. Then later I found a knitting pattern in my file which is the same tension except for one stitch (which I never bother with anyway) and same sized needles. The pattern is a Sirdar Crofter DK. I have knitted the jumper using the Sirdar yarn and it cost quite a lot to make so I will use that pattern and have a cheaper jumper with the same style of patterning ( Crofter yarn knits to a Fairisle effect as well). Chucky Mama
My local Lidl had a bit of the cotton left but colour not great so didn't get any. They had plenty of the large balls.
craftyhunnypie
You could always make crocheted flowers too with the cotton. Our Lidl only had the fairisle wool in & I already have some similar, that I bought from Instore. Has anyone any pictures of the balls of cotton yarn? I just want to see what colours are available - as to whether I should try to find any. Better still - has anyone made anything with it yet?
