chelsea
one of my close friends is getting married on St Patrick's Day and is asking me for suggestions of a "funny" song to play during the signing of the register to amuse the guests. They've been a couple for nearly 20 years, 2 kids,..but have never got around to getting married, they are emigrating to France in the spring so thought it was easier to be married over there. They are a laid back, fun couple and want a song along the lines of "about time", "married at last" sort of theme....anything funny. I know I can rely on you clever witty bunch for ideas

Looney
If they are getting married in France, I think they should have the Allo Allo theme tune played by an accordianist (if that's what you call someone that plays the accordian!) Maybe a bit..... inappropriate? Slightly off topic but the inappropriate bit made me remember Saturday night after a particularly bad karaoke someone sang, and I played them off stage with the black eyed peas..... "Shut up, just shut up shut up Shut up, just shut up shut up" Probably not the best song but it had the right intentions! A xx

Guest
You'll have to get a few of those sort of songs at the ready - or will you standardise on just the one? Another suggestion for the wedding song. Talking Heads "Once In a Lifetime".

The Dogmother
Oooo, I love ABBA Annie, that 's a fab choice. I was married to Pachelbel's Canon and Massenet's Meditation from Thais - two of my fave pieces of music - I still love them despite the connection.
