Pro - Does anyone else's nest boxes get soaked in rain?

This'll make you laugh....

 

I've been trying my girls out on some different dried treats; they usually get the Smallholder Super Mixed Corn ( the one with all the peas and lentils in) mixed with some dried meal worms, but I wanted to try something different, but still high-protein.

 

Excuse the out of focus pics, but it's hard to get a really tight shot when you're being mobbed by chooks!

 

Here's how it went...

 

Daphnia

 

They quite liked that

 

Sand fleas (like little shrimps)

 

 

They LOVED those

 

Wax worm thingies...

 

 

and water flies

 

Not such a success... and I don't blame them either - they didn't look too nice.

 

Soooo... sand fleas it is then!

 

It was quite funny watching how they preferred some things and not others, but they deffo mobbed me for those sand fleas.

I have to say that they smell absolutely VILE the girls loved them though and were very funny, each trying to hog them to themself.
