Best liner/ bedding for drop tray

Recently we had a tap washer fail on an upstairs bathroom which subsequently flooded through the hall ceiling and blew the flooring (laminate) in the hall & kitchen. Contacted insurance as we pay lots of dosh to guard against this don't we? They sent out a man who said oh yes it's a genuine claim will send out the contractors. They came they replastered ceiling and painted it they painted a wall and relaid damaged laminate. No probs we thought. Until we came to renew our premium and were refused as we are at a great risk of flooding! Not likely as the river would have to flow 60ft uphill to flood our house, so checked up and found out contractors had charged insurance co nearly 8K for a job that should have cost at a push 2! So asked for breakdown of bill as any claim over 5K means you get put on an insurance blacklist. well it read like something from fantasy island, they had replumbed the kitchen(not) and hired 3 super sized dehumidifiers (1 tiny one) for 3 weeks to dry our house out then they had artexed a ceiling (not) and rewallpapered (not) the hall and painted it only true thing on bill nedless to say they are now being investigated for fraud and I am awaiting a relisting from the insurance company so I am not blacklisted . That is absolutely outrageous. No wonder our premiums are all so high with that sort of fraud going on. Good luck - I really hope that you get it all sorted out!

I've just seen this elsewhere That is appalling Was it a local firm that was contracted in. If you're anywhere near the Fylde I'd like to know who the contractor was so I can avoid them. Hope you're off the blacklist soon.

thats disgusting! Pressumably these were insurance approved contractors as you said the man said he'd send round the contractors, thats absoluteley terribly!

 

If I have anything like this happen I am asking the contrators to send me a copy of the work they have subbimitted was done.

That is truly appaling - is there an ombudsman you can contact.

 

Puts me to mind of when I had to use a Greek doctore to see one of my girls - he charged my insurance company for a 2 night hospital stay,when in reality he had seen her for 5 minutes in the hotel & she was better the next day

So sorry to hear this, what a cheek They must've known the consequences for you of putting in a bill for that much.

 

Glad they are being investigated, I imagine all other work they have done will be looked at again now. I hope you get off that blacklist soon.

Off the blacklist already. phone call today from insurance company grovelling, however we have reinsured with someone else and told them everything about the situation, We are just waiting to see if theoriginal insurance company come good on their promise to sort it all out if they don't we will be contacting the ombudsman.
