Oven cleaning services

Recommended Posts

I use Oven Pride. Put the racks in the bag that's provided, pour in the liquid and hey presto all lovely and clean in a couple of hours. Also use it on the inside of my oven and the glass door. No stink either. Am still going to get someone in at somepoint though to take it apart and thoroughly clean it as I can't get to the fan.

I use Oven Pride too, & my steam cleaner every so often, having ssaid that OH does the cooking spills all sorts inside the oven & - I don't always know until he switches it on again & fills the house with horrid smoke as he did last night :x

I have been tempted in the past. My oven has self cleaning panels, but even they were pretty grubby. My OH used to clean our old one which we inherited with the house with wet and dry sandpaper, it was pretty revolting.

I have found that my oven stays much cleaner since I have been baking my own bread, because of the higher temperature cooking. It needs a going over now though. I use Oven Mate from Lakeland it comes with a brush, doesn't smell, and does a good job, but I still can't get at the fan. It does take gloss paint of kitchen cupboards though

Dont know re oven cleaners but I have just put the peelings on to boil for the hens and wormery and after a while (a long while) I got a snif of something and the kitchen is full of smoke - the smoke alarm was almost going off in the hall! - I have had to open front and back doors and get rid of the smoke - lord knows about the pan - its outside - was smoking well for a while! - need someone to sort the pan me thinks! If its salvagable

She talks, I listen

Back to ovencleaning... I keep a sprinkling of bicarbonate of soda at the base of my oven. When I wash it this helps to lift all but the most baked in grime. It doesn't come up sparkling but lifts any spilages and stops the smoking or burnt smells.

Last time I used Mr Muscle the smell was awful and it tainted the food :( Not sure what I did wrong there but won't use the stuff again.
