chelsea
I use Flubenvet as a wormer every 3-4 months. In the nest box I use aubiose which is a kind of horse bedding that comes in big bales. (Hemcore & Easibed is similar stuff) can buy this from equestrian/farm supplies stores. Some people do use shredded paper in the nest box also. I also use aubiose in my run and it really works well absorbing the poos.

Tutti Frutti
Helloee! Flubenvet was recommended to me by my vet as a cure (and I've seen the proof that it works! ) rather than Verm-X, which I was told was more like a preventative. I think DE is a preventative too, as it's meant to make the gut inhospitable. But I'm sure someone who knows will be along soon to clarify! I use Aubiose for bedding - Hemcore and Easibed are similar but I chose Aubiose as it's hemp and composts REALLY easily (hardwood chips just refuse to compost, and dust-extracted wood-shavings are slow too!). I emailed Aubiose for a local supplier and they recommended someone 20 miles away . So I looked here and found a tack shop 3 miles up the road! So maybe worth ringing around your local horsey suppliers first. HTH! PS Found some info on bedding types here Oops Chelsea beat me to it! chelsea
No worries. Aubiose have a freephone link to find your local supplier: http://www.aubiose.co.uk/ Hemcore have a clickable map for your nearest supplier (scroll down to see map) http://www.hemcore.co.uk/distributors.php I would suggest ringing your nearest supplier to check stock before making a special journey though. Redwing
Diatom is supposed to be a cure for worms as its sharp edges s"Ooops, word censored!"e and pierce the parasite and dry it out (or something) Personally I wouldnt feed my hens anything that has edges sharp enough to pierce a parasite but then I am paranoid! sjp
easibed is wood chips I've used it for the nest box but it did stay in for long as the girls hated it what they could kick out got piled up on the other side of the nest box bliss is also like hemcore smells nice to
Redwing
for the nest box if storage of litter or availibility is a problem you can get small bales of woodshavings from places like Pets at Home, it works out more expensive but is an option
