The legendary Malcom McLaren,former manager of the Sex Pistols,has died aged 64 in New York.

Not everyones cup of tea I am sure,but I thought he was fab.

I didnt know. Blimey. Like him or loathe him he was a huge influence on modern culture and music, and a true British eccentric- RIP.

(I thought he had died in Switzerland though, and they mentioned a cancer type disease and I thought of those Swiss clinics, obviously wasn't paying attention to the news this morning )

I met him once. He had a glint in his eye! I'm sad to hear he has died.

Was it him who was supposed to do 'I'm a celeb' but wouldn't come out of his hotel room,or am I getting him mixed up with someone else?

He was unashamedly self-promoting and I found him very irritating when interviewed but he and Vivienne Westwood introduced punk to the UK and changed attitudes to fashion for ever, . I heard he died of Mesothelioma which is usually linked to asbestos. 64 is no age.

I'm very sad too - a real mover and shaker; he was part of something that changed my life. Him and Alexander McQueen; not good is it

For him to die at only 64-the world has lost a true iconic,outspoken figure.Most people remember him for managing the Sex Pistols,but that was only a brief part of his life.RIP Malcom.

 

For me,his pinacle moment was the haunting song 'Madame Butterfly'.

It said in the paper yesterday that he pulled out of the show as he didn't know who any of the 'celebrities' hired for the programme were! I often have that problem too

Slightly morbid thought,but I am wondering about his funeral.

 

If its not a huge,hedonistic, decadent affair,I will be very disappointed
