Egluntyne
The last two or three times I have posted on the forum, I get an error message (I use Firefox) and it sort of semi crashes. When I go through the rigmarole to get back to where it was, it always works the second time. Is it just me??
AnnieP
I haven't had any problems..... I just keep getting this: Sorry Egluntine. I know Phil runs firefox... maybe he will be able to help.
Cinnamon
,Annie I have been having a few problems with Firefox not loading pages properly. On My Ebay it ofen refuses to load the search bar, & on the forum quiz page the standings tab is now not there I also keep getting logged off on here when I try to post, which is really annoying as then all the red arrows go & you have no idea how far you have got reading through
Egluntyne
Now you come to mention it Cinnamon, the red arrow thingy is happening to me too. I might have to revert to Internet Explorer....I am disappointed as I prefer Firefox. Perhaps Revnev will come to the rescue!!
Cinnamon
Likewise - I prefer Firefox too, but it is driving me mad that pages are not loading as they should. Also,as an Ebayer I cannot use the enhanced picture services when listing if I list with Firefox. We kept IE as my daughters school has a thing where they can access work they did on the school computers from home,& that si only compatable with IE. I am sure Phil will have some ideas

Cinnamon
Any idea why I am having a problem with pages not loading fully,Phil?
Guest
no Sarah! sorry! but here's a couple of suggestions.. check if you have the most up to date version of firefox.. Help - Check for Updates also - often these glitches are to do with cookies. you could try cleating your cookies (these are the fragments that websites leave on your machine so that they recognise you when you go back. It's worth clearing the4m every now and again anyway.. Tools - Clear Private Data (it also clears out stuff like your browser history - and your search bar history....) hope that helps a bit, but I'll think about it... I don't think Omlet is basically incompatible with Omlet or ebay - mine works perfectly with both... but these things are very irritating - and often tricky to pin down. good luck, Phil
Cinnamon
Thanks Phil - clearing the data helped a lot. I have just found out that Ebay are having problems with picture hosting at the moment,so I am going to assume it is their problem, not mine
Egluntyne
Have deleted and reinstalled Firefox. I pm'd Cinnamon and it didn't crash, but crashed again when writing this post! Grrr.
Egluntyne
Have just found under "tools" a thingy called "Error Console" Clicked it and up came a list as long as your arm with the following and similar: Warning: Error in parsing value for property 'cursor'. Declaration dropped. Source File: http://club.omlet.co.uk/forum/viewforum.php?f=7 Line: 0 This is as clear as mud and way beyond my understanding of computers. Any ideas?? ubereglu
I don't have any problems with Firefox egluntine, but it may be to do with the fact we clear private data everytime we use it. I was having probs just now with an AQA page, but I don't think it was Firefox's fault though.
Egluntyne
Sssshhh....touchwood......it seems OK at the moment!
Guest
Ahh - this is a known issue in Firefox.. I don't know if the latest issue has fixed this - if you are running OK now - then maybe it has... what is happening is that most webpages have errors in the scripting somewhere - and browsers are more or less tolerant... (IE occasionally says stuff like "errors in the page do you want to keep loading?" you say yes - and it is fine. in this case - the Omlet pages are designed using CSS - Cascading Style Sheets - what kind of replaced HTML several years ago for writing web pages - and Firefox is picking up and error in the way the cursor is described.... but it shouldn't really be a problem... and there isn't anything you can do about it for now! I hope the new version - and clearing your cookies has fixed the issue! (and you're right - reinstalling is often a good idea!) let me know if you continue to have problems.. Egluntyne
Phew...that's a relief Cinnamon..... The whole thing seems to have something to do with the internal workings of the cursor...mine is definitely not behaving itself within this forum...it just sort of wobbles....and if I press enter the whole thing crashes.....grrrr.....not every time though
