jsbates65
Well. . .little Clarisse & Rosemary are happily brooding and seem to be doing very well. (I did finally get the "tags" out of their wings without too much trouble, and the chicks didn't seem to mind.) The Eglu hasn't arrived yet, but they are not ready to move outdoors for a few weeks anyway. My main reason for having chickens is to enjoy them as pets and to bond with them. Right now, I try to hold them for bits of time and talk to them. Any other tips on how to "bond" with the chicks so they become friendly hens? Egluntyne
Holding them and talking to them is your best bet....feeding them out of your hand when they are on big girls food is another.
Mel (& Paul)
yup, feeding them treats, speaking softly and stroking them gently it also works on husbands, but is not as effective as shouting at them
Christian
Try handling them at night when they are sleepy. They are much more docile. Good luck.
