Lavenders_Blue
Thanks Lesley, I had forgotten about corn on the cob! Have done this in foil in the past and I seem to remember it works well. I think that's what I might be having this weekend
Lesley
Thanks Lesley, I had forgotten about corn on the cob! Have done this in foil in the past and I seem to remember it works well. I think that's what I might be having this weekend I hope you enjoy it - barbecues do turn into a 'how many vegetables would you like with your vegetables' sort of thing don't they ?! Make sure you grab the potato salad before it all goes........
sunshinesupernova
some precooked boiled new potatoes with some olive oil and herbs. BBQ turns them into lovely little roasties. Beetroot and carrots with some balsamic vinegar or carraway seeds and olive oil work well like that too. If you want to make everyone jealous - some bananas split with chocolate in the middle

Cinnamon
Garlic bread is great on a barbie too. Get a French baguette & slit it down the middle. Fill it with garlic butter - home made is best...just soft butter, garlic & chopped parsley, then seal it back up & wrap it in foil. Bung it on long enough for the bread to warm & the butter to melt, then slice
Lesley
.......and hide all your veggie goodies from the meat eaters It's like all buffets where all the nay-sayers make a beeline for the veggie food
Lavenders_Blue
Report back from the BBQ last night - I took inspiration from several of the suggestions. I didn't have time to go and buy sweetcorn, so that didn't happen but I made a parcel of onion, mangetout (homegrown!), tomato, courgette and feta cheese with a dash of oregano, pepper, olive oil and red wine vinegar. I think it had about 30mins on a lowish heat and was LOVELY. Everyone kept peering at my dinner and commenting on how tasty it looked! Then I did bananas and chocolate in foil which is absolutely delicious A triumph all round I think. Thanks for your suggestions everyone.
