Where do you store yours?

Recommended Posts

I was surfing for the egg size grades and stumbled across the "Lion Mark" egg website. They had some lovely recipes (but I'm not convinced by them as an organisation as I think they could do more to promote free-range or organic egg sales). Anyway, I saw that they say here to store eggs in the fridge! I store ours on the kitchen worktop in an egg-skelter - it keeps them in date order and I use the ones at the bottom and sell the ones at the top  (just given this month's proceeds to Little Hen Rescue after their accident last weekend - see this thread :( )

Anyway, what do you do? Any advice welcome :) Thank you!

PS I have to say, they had some lovely recipes on there - I might have to try the veggie eggie bread cobbler  And their eggonomics website had some good ideas too - but one of them uses egg noodles and the ones in my supermarket aren't free range  I'll have to see if M&S sell them :)

Well, they aren't stored in the fridge at the supermarket,so why fridge them when you get home?

I have such a fast turnover with selling them at the door that they are never on the Skelter for more than a day or 2 anyhow, plus most cake recipes work better if the eggs are room temperature 8)

I like that Cobbler recipe by the way - uses up courgettes & eggs in one go,which will be great for me in a months time!

Good point!!! Now I have even less faith in the Lion Mark website

(but like the look of their Curried Egg Fritata (sp))

And they had tips for freezing raw eggs - see here. Not sure about the half teaspoon of salt though :shock:
