Looney
Back from a hectic weekend at my friend's wedding! Aching from dancing and playing with 4 flower girls and 1 page boy for an entire day.....we had an excellent confetti fight outside the church (I was the only "adult" joining in) and doing follow-my-leader dancing games on the dance floor Great photos Martin (though being a football ignoramus I only recognise the names of a couple of the players ). Phil, please pass on a huge thank you to Carys for being my weekend prediction deputy - much appreciated
Martin B
You do take a good picture! You must have been really close? I sit not far from the dug out, but before the game I go down to the tunnel to get autographs! I was so busy taking photos that I didn't get any! Although Campbell did sign. chelsea
Great pictures martin. Cant believe how off I was with the predicting, but then - the footy wasnt that good either - who could predict that both sunday's games would be 0-0 And birmingham beating wolves at home. gooner.girl
The footy wasn't that good - you're right Chelsea! Am not talking about the "Ooops, word censored!"nal game... Cheating ref! Should never have been 4 min of injury time and for them to score in the 5th - well! - i was not best impressed... Ooops. I guess i did just talk about it but it was sooo unjust... Martin - the school secretary at work - her son is the official Portsmouth FC photographer - i reckon you could do him out of a job judging by the great pics... I'm not grown up anyway - don't feel it! Actually, only today at work one of the little girls, Anneka (age 7) said to me summat like 'Mrs Diack, you're a really young teacher aren't you? You're the youngest in the school. Thats good cos you're more our age and can play with us!!!' gooner.girl
Actually Chelsea, i shall know i am getting old when i start to be flattered by comments like that - at the moment i still feel vaguely insulted! Martin B
One word about chelsea tonight: Disgusting! A few more... Drogba, Cole, Mikel, Terry should all be given life bans you thieving scumbags. I hope they all get serious injuries and then they'll know not to fake another one!
gooner.girl
There was rather a lot of diving, you're right Martin, if they were "Ooops, word censored!"nal players there would have been uproar but they get away with it cos they're Chelsea! What is Mourinho like moaning about penalties! Does he not have eyes?! The handball was miles out of the box!!!! Shame Chelsea won, rather hoped Liverpool would (i hate Chelsea more...) chelsea
From a neutral point of view I cant see anything wrong with the game from either team tonight honestly. I dont know what you are on about Martin. we won fair and square. Rafa benitez never had any complaints after the game...he would have said something if there was. Im off to bed now. gooner.girl
I don't know why he doesn't just give up the Villa pretence Chelsea and come out of the closet as a Liverpool red Sleep well! Edited April 25, 2007 by Guest

Martin B
Women are not always right. It's true, there's no point having a football discussion if we can't be honest. Benitez is a good manager, he always says how they will improve, not how the opposition were. On the otherhand that Donkey of yours Blah Blah Blah's all the time about the opposition! Still not happy, Chelsea should be thrown out of the competition!
gooner.girl
I agree with what you say Martin. I think several of the Chelsea players did dive! And they did get away with it - And you're right theres no point in discussing football unless we can be honest (though lying about how great your team are when they've just been thrashed 5-0 is always fun as well!) BUT I just think you perhaps, worded your post a little too strongly for Chelseas liking... If it had been about "Ooops, word censored!"nal, it would have got my hackles up (although thats easily done ) ....And yes, women are always right, you'll learn that one day! Sheilaz
Drogba, Cole, Mikel, Terry should all be given life bans you thieving scumbags. I hope they all get serious injuries and then they'll know not to fake another one! ...Martin, I wonder if you might think about re phrasing some of that! I've been thinking about this all morning (whilst working ) and don't feel happy not to respond now that I've taken time to consider. Firstly, the tone is completely against the friendly nature of this forum, there is no other topic where we would let that type of name calling and wishes of harm to others go unremarked! Secondly, leaving that tone is exactly what gives football topics a bad name, whereas the thread has been running so well with much amusing, humourous and harmless banter. Let's keep it that way! Thirdly, your own point...an honest football discussion. If that's what you want, you could debate whether for example Cole had misbehaved and should have been sent off, but this can be done politely and by giving your reasons! Your reasoning & debating skills can be very good, so stick to that & leave the rudeness behind. OK, the match, or something else, had made you angry, but don't take it out on your friends here, or by letting foul language take over! Why am I on this topic? well, came to congratulate Chelsea of course! Think Helen must be right about your secret Liverpool allegiance Martin and is definitely correct about women being right. It's a joke Martin! But also very true, so you'd be wise to either believe it or, even wiser, pretend to believe it! Notice how gracefully I have accepted Watford's sad departure....now there's something for you to laugh about.
