alligg
Hi I am really at a loss what to do. We lost our first chicken a few months ago and it looks like we have another one thats in trouble. Dora started limping and we checked her over and found no reason for it so we took her to the vet and he found nothing, she continued to get worse and eventually stopped walking, eating and looked so miserable,we lost her a few days later. Now another one of our chickens has started doing the same and I don't know what to do for the best. The vet has said the same he cannot find a reason,no break,no heat or anything.she is obviously not happy. Please please could anyone help. Christian
If she has sprained her leg, then try arnica pillules as they can help with the bruising. Holland and Barratt sell them, as do Boots. I would recommend the 30c dosage a couple of times a day and see if that helps. Worth a try?
Egluntyne
A calcium supplement will often help a cure a limp.

hippy chick
I use limestone flour for my girls. One of mine had a really bad limp. It affected her so bad that she was completely lame for weeks. I gave her the limestone flour and within days she was back to her old self again.
Egluntyne
Limestone flour ( plus a dollop of codliver oil) added to the pellets, or a soluble supplement such as ZolcalD added to the drinking water for a few days.
