Ain't Nobody Here

I've gone off Julia Bradbury!

Recommended Posts

:talk2hand: I've never liked her :shameonu:

I hate the way she thrusts her face towards people and utters those patronising comments of hers with such wide-eyed feigned interest in the answer.

Can you tell I don't like her?

My husband, on the other hand, thinks she has a nice bottom :eh:

Now Kate Humble........ she is a blond, fluffy but so infectious and I suspect a darn sight more clever than JB AND she keeps chickens and bees :D

I agree I like Kate Humble, but not Julia Bradbury, she seems so fake and patronising, she is one of those people who looks like they are listening when really they aren't.

I do have mixed feelings about chickens at shows, they can look quite distressed, we saw some at the Three counties recently, it was hot in their marquee and some of them had dropped loads of feathers, presumably through stress?

I do love to see all the different breeds though.

I watch countryfile and I missed that, but she is entitled to her own opinion, so I don't have a problem with her suggesting that chickens are boring.

Each to their own I say as chickens aren't everyone's cup of tea. :D

I have to say I don't think much of Kate, I find her too enthusiastic and over the top, she comes across as being quite fake on most of the programmes I have seen her on. I like the fact that she’s not afraid to have a go at things like on lambing live, but even then it's almost like she's trying too hard to please the audience rather than enjoying the experience and to me she seems to present like she feel's she's presenting a children's programme.

Don't get me wrong, she's probably a much better presenter than I would ever be, but Adam on the other hand I find is a very natural presenter, which I find quite strange considering he is an experienced tenant farmer and probably has little to no formal acting and presenting experience. Although he probably makes more from presenting now than farming!

I can't say I'm terribly enthusiastic about either JB, but I do like KH. I agree, JB seems quite patronising at times, but OTOH her Wainwright series was very good, and she does seem genuinely enthusiastic about walking (which considering her role with the Ramblers Association, she ought to be). KH I think is very genuine and bubbly and enthusiastic, and she and Chris Packham compliment each other well on Spring/Autumnwatch. The person who really annoys me on that programme is Simon King who is just too luvvy for me - great behind the camera (one of the all-time greats) but not so good in front of it.

Countryfile is a bit too much like an adult countryside-based Blue Peter, which is inevitable since most of the presenters are ex Blue Peter presenters. I do like Adam and John Craven though. Adam is a natural, and it is time that more programmes were presented by people who really know and do the job, rather than those who have been to acting school/media studies courses.

My sentiments exactly - my OH cant stand JB either - she is known as a 'renta-presenter' in our house!
