stehaggan
Ive currently got a very large WIR with a cube and a classic in it with 6 Warren Hens. I love having just the Warrens but I really want to extend my flock so to speak with some lavender frizzles/banthams. My question is, it advisible to mix the larger birds with banthams or will the banthams be unhappy? I could extend my WIR with a bit of work but just want some advice really. scarlettohara
Hi I have 8 LF in a big WIR with a cube, I have 4 bantams from 8 to 11 weeks. I originally thought I would integrate mine but now that I have the bantmas I can see this is unrealistic, even fully grown they will be tiny - you may get some feisty ones that can stand up for themselves but I'm not going to risk it. I'm having an extension added to my WIR just for the banties edited to add that I hope they will fr together Edited August 12, 2010 by Guest
chicken bark
Have you got your heart set on the Frizzles? It would be easier to have more LF. I think some people have integrated bantams and LF but I'd go with what Scarlet has said. BTW go on extend the WIR anyway - you know you want to. chickyhazel
Our cousins used to have 2 warrens with 2 bantams and they were fine - the warrens were dominant but got on very well with the bantams. I don't know if this is normally the case but it shows the two can be fine together.
