My Dad's mobile phone has broken, completely dead. I'm amazed it's lasted so long it was a Nokia 3260! I am wondering if anyone can suggest a good really simple, basic one. He is 73 and only uses it for emergencies. Mum got a Nokia 2330 that I thought was simple and really liked but she just keeps taking photos of the floor or the table, whatever's in front of her really when she switches it on!!! The other option is that he could have my Samsung and I take the new one, but I think even that might be complicated for him - any thoughts?

Yes, Samsungs are very complicated!

 

Nokia is probably the best bet - if you can get a second hand one of these they are simplicity itself to use and decent sized buttons

I have just had my beloved 6610 give up on me - that was a nice easy phone to use too

All my grandparents, who are in their 80's have got Nokia's, my gran and grampy have even started texting. I've always found Nokia's really simple to use.

Definately keep it simple. So many of my older patients are bought microwaves by caring families and never mind them my staff are at a loss how to use them

I have had Nokias at work, then I have a Samsung(which I find very annoying and not easy to use, my son had one and got rid of it after a few weeks). I have a blackberry but am going to get a cheap little Nokia from Tesco pay as you go £14.99 ?? and it is just for texting and phoning.Best phone were Nokias

I believe Asda do a very simple phone for £15 and when you registar it you get £10 back in credit.

Ha Ha I hear you!! I just had to get a new phone and contract after 9 years - the Carphone Warehouse weren't quite sure what to do with me! I got a nice little Nokia 2720 clamshell with big buttons though - just what I wanted.
