CallyChook
I've been trying to keep a happy face on as at 38 weeks pregnant it's not good to get too upset, but my aunty passed away last night in the hospital. Not only was she the best aunty in the world, but we had lived together in a shared house for the past three yrs and my son and we were very close. To add insult to injury, I have just found Flappy dead in the corner of the shed. She was absolutely fine yesterday, eating drinking fine, free ranging happily, never bullied, putting on weight merrily - so very odd to find her gone this morning. No sign of any trauma, she was just stiff on the floor on her side with both legs stuck out. I'm glad my son didn't accompany me to let them out this morning. Now I'm panicking as they always says death comes in threes, and that's numbers one and two in less than 10 hours. Surely it can't get any worse?? CallyChook
On a lighter note I see that Count Vlad has now got a name, love it. thanks Daxi my aunt was unwell for a few months before-hand and when it became obvious that she didnt have long to go, I thought to her favourite movies and stories - she loved vampires - and hence the Count and Mina were named! It made her smile when I told her in the hospital two days before she passed away. I would have loved to have called the white silkie hen Glenys but I'm not sure aunty G would have liked that... she was more an orpington kinda lady!!
