craftyhunnypie
I do believe there are some good you tube videos of it in action - with people putting odd things in it. I've yet to watch some of these. I'm no s"Ooops, word censored!", but when it comes to cooking gadgets ( useful ones, not fads) - well...I just love them! P.S. I have wire cockerel in the window envy!! Wow! Emma.x
chickric
He is 'Stan the Man', we picked him up from Wellsbourne Market last summer off a stall with lots of nice things, he was priced at £25 I think but I knocked him down by 10% and got a free candlestick . And here he is ready for Christmas

Peanut butter?..... oh my imagination is already running wild and I don't even have one!
craftyhunnypie
Being as hubby bought it unknowns to me, then told me - he has said he's making Mr.Whippy in it first! God knows what flavour. Seen a demo for a chocolate, strawberry & Baileys ice cream. MMm. I'm wanting to make a soup in it. I uppose we could make both in about 5 minutes. Lewis
They're soooo ! Have seen them at a couple of shows, Dad didn't believe me you could make hot soup + then ice cream in the same machine so had to drag him over Don't think my student budget will stretch though
craftyhunnypie
The Vitamix is here! Was waiting for us when we got home! It's a right beast! Now what to make first! Emma.x
Griffin
I'm jealous too! We very nearly bought one at the Good Food show in the summer. We're going again at the end of November so maybe we might invest in one then. The kids would much rather have a Vitamix than a load of tat for Christmas anyway
craftyhunnypie
Tonight is Vitamix Friday. We bought ( yes bought) ice cubes, frozen strawberries, chocolate sauce, double cream, Baileys, loads of fruit & vegetables. So a quick clean of the jug & we're off. Ha ha! Just waiting for the chooks to go bed, then hubby will be in & whizzing up heaven knows what concoctions. Hmm. P.S We made vanilla ice cream & chocolate ice cream is in the freezer! Saturday - I made onion, carrot, red pepper, tomato, chilli pepper, cayenne pepper & veg oxo soup - that was absolutely gorgeous. I then made chocolate & Bailey's mousse - also gorgeous, but not so healthy! Emma.x

craftyhunnypie
We love ours. It's the most used kitchen gadget we have ever had. We have regular vitamix soup for lunch or as a snack. Perfect for my Weight Watchers! We have done ice cream. Hubby adores the chocolate & Baileys mousse. I've done breadcrumbs in it. Also scrambled eggs. It makes the most fantastic cheese sauce which we have over cauliflower or brocolli. I often have a few frozen strawberries whizzed up in some milk, to make the most yummy milkshake. It's a good way for me to get my milk, if I've not had a cereal breakfast. I would definitely say it plays a big role in me losing weight. We have ours out permanently on the work top & the easy cleaning of it is such a bonus. We certainly would not be without it. Emma.x
Patricia W
Ok - I'm now sold on this blender after reading craftyhoneypie and Griffin's rave reviews- BUT- which model? And what's the best price anyone's found? Tricia
Griffin
Glad to hear it. I know it'll encourage me to eat more fruit which considering is free with WW now will be a huge help.
Griffin
Ok - I'm now sold on this blender after reading craftyhoneypie and Griffin's rave reviews- BUT- which model? And what's the best price anyone's found? Don't buy it from their own website because postage is extortionate I've just seen it on the John Lewis site with free delivery http://www.johnlewis.com/230976036/Product.aspx To be honest I didn't know it came in different models, only different colours, because I've only ever seen the one they use in the demos at the Good Food shows. What they don't tell you at the shows which is a bit naughty is that the dry mix jug isn't included in the price, that's an extra £109. But we figured we're not likely to be grinding rice etc in ours, we only want it for soups, smoothies and the like so the dry jug wasn't important. craftyhunnypie
One is a blender that will heat as you blend - due to friction created. The other is a stick blender. Emma.x
Patricia W
OH is keen on a Magimix - any arguments for and against? I like the Vitamix!
