moochoo
I'm currently fostering a 5 year old, neutered male Labrador cross called Bubbles. He's dog and cat friendly and has shown little interest in the chickens He's a big lad being 26" tall and weighing 30kg but is very affectionate. Got to wait til win lottery then can get bigger plot/house. Loads of chicks, maybe a cockeral and two more labs He's actually come from Spain. He was rescued from being chained up and poorly treated for the first 4 years of his life, the last year he's been in rescue kennels over there whilst they got him neutered and all his vaccinations for his pet passport. Amazingly he's still very trusting and affectionate towards people. He will make someone a wonderfully loyal pet.

Donna C
Are you tempted to keep him, he is a handsome chap and so well natured. My in-laws come from a small farming village in Italy. They would never hurt any animal but it took them a long time to get used to a dog living in the house and are still ( after 2 years) amazed we give him dog food. moochoo
Just look at those long legs!! - what was he crossed with Sarah? He's crossed with Spanish Podenco, a type of hunting hound. Although from what I can tell he's more lab in nature. Greedy, lazy and cuddly!
MarkBevBen
They would never hurt any animal but it took them a long time to get used to a dog living in the house Interesting you say that Donna. My hubbly is from New Zealand and over there, doggies tend to live outdoors - mind you the climate, certainly in North Island, is much milder than here in the UK. Donna C
I think we have a lot in common. They do have smaller dogs in the house, but they baby-sat one night and i told them not to worry. He was in kitchen and would be fine. Got home and he was curled up at my mother-in-laws feet. "I couldn't leave him in there" she said and the've loved him from then on. They adore the chickens too. Although they think omlet go is posh. And want us to have more than two. ( i couldn't agree more) They still can't get there heads round batts though. Kepy saying are they still in moult And they still but cheap eggs Can't seem to teach them.

I sometimes wonder if our Labs are Labs at all - not greedy, not lazy and only one of them is cuddly......and only after the age of

They would never hurt any animal but it took them a long time to get used to a dog living in the house and are still ( after 2 years) amazed we give him dog food. He is a truly scrumptious chap but if we keep him it'll mean I can't foster any other needy dogs. I definitely don't have the space for 3 large dogs and a foster! Bubbles is actually quite lucky a lot of the Spanish working dogs get hung in trees or have their legs broken and are left to die in the Campo. I have no issue with dogs living outside as long as they are cared for too.
