jlo Posted November 9, 2010 Share Posted November 9, 2010 OK - it's not the lottery but I am still very excited - perhaps that should be "easily excited" I entered a competition on the Waitrose Website to go for a day at their new kitchen in London and cook a Christmas meal and I have just received an email to say that I will be one of 22 people going there The only slight issue is that I never expected to win so I am still supposed to be in work on Monday. I am just hoping that my boss will be his usual lovely self and let me have the day off. I will let you know if I learn any tips from the chefs. I had a great day at Waitrose Cookery School in Finchley Road, London. The facilities are great and it has only been open a week so everything is top notch. There was a friendly group of people there - eleven of us in total. I was a bit of a Billy No Mates when we paired off but that was fine. We cooked a mini Christmas Lunch and, if I say so myself, my roast potatoes were almost as good as my mother in law's - and that is quite an achievement! Then we sat and ate it - along with a glass or two of wine In the afternoon we watched a demo of a couple of alternative Christmas desserts and they were delish!
