The Dogmother
I was walking around our local reservoir last night with the dogs - haven't seen it this empty in years; it was fuller at the end of last summer. I don't want rain, but we badly need it.
beach chick
rain will come next week apparently. I just want a few days of getting outside in reasonable comfort, after the horrible easterly winds we have had. I saw a long-range weather forecast a few weeks ago - good June, rubbish July, good August apparently (altho subsequently heard someone say August was not going to be good). I would just really love a school summer holidays which wasnt rained off, or cold, or just generally un-plannable due to the vagaries of the weather. cant remember the last time that happened! chickencam
We desperately need some rain on our allotment, we have sandy soil and my onions really haven't got going properly, and we are struggling to get seeds to germinate. the potatoes are ok at the moment but we need some rain to swell the earlies. It is warm and humid here today and I am hoping to get my bed sheets dry then it can do what it wants, overnight of course We are forecast possible thunder storms this evening and overnight and again tomorrow evening. The Dogmother
Well, the big black clouds we had at 7pm last night soon disappeared without raining. Phil called around that time, he was driving back from Dundee and had come through rain from the Lake District to an hour north of Birmingham. Mild and cloudy here today... for once I am hoping for rain!
chickencam
We have thin cloud with the sun just getting through and it is very humid. We had a shower for 5 minutes outside the office yesterday, but as soon as it was finished everywhere was dry and it didn't register in my rain gauge at home, it may not have got that far.
