We had some fantastic lightening and loud thunder, not for long though and then a couple of mm of rain then nothing until about 20 minutes ago and now it is raining steadily, hopefully it will carry on all night then stop in the morning.

We had that in the distance at lunchtime, i was convinced that we'd have a big storm but it must have blown the other way. I was so astonished that I took a picture of the sky.

same here claret, not a drop of rain at all and beautiful again here now! so I've been out watering...

BBC website PROMISED heavy downpour at 1600. well, it went a bit grey, and I wondered about watering new border - and went for it. so glad I did, as it is a summer evening again here now!!

cant complain, but could do with a good soaking overnight, I am even having to water the odd established plant which is showing mildew....

Very bright but cold start, stayed mostly cold all day with the odd heavy shower  the wind dropped a bit while we were at the Omlet gathering and it was quite warm for a while, but then I headed back up to the cold wastes of Banbury :? the wind is bitter up here and I've got the stove roaring away.

We've had a couple of heavy showers, but made the most of a window of good weather to walk the dogs in nearby Hanwell; still nippy though and needed my Puffa gilet.

Walked near Hanwell Castle, just a couple of miles from me. Originally built c1498, the current reincarnation was built in the 18thC and the tower is said to be the earliest brick built structure in Oxon.
