The Weather Thread # 6

Recommended Posts

we're meant to be having fog and drizzle - it was foggy this morning, but it has been absolutely stunning since about 10am - clear blue skies, bright sun, no wind. lovely! forecast for tomorrow is grey and damp (hope they're wrong) and sunny intervals for Sunday.

dilemma: was planning to clear out top landing and spare bedroom this w/e. but if its a lovely day I'll just have to be in the garden wont I?

has anyone else had really bad weather? weve had rain everyday for weeks. its cloudy all the time and things just stay damp all the while. we havent been able to properly clean out the chickens house in weeks, and the omlet shade is covered in aglae (or however you spell it!)!

is anyone else having this nasty weather?

It's pretty squelchy here in Chester. It hasn't rained every single day, but probably most days. It was dry yesterday and looks like being dry today, so am hoping that two dry days together will help things a bit. Our run is on slabs, so still get cleaned out weekly, although yesterday, even though I had gloves on, my hands were absolutely frozen, and the cleaning wasn't quite as thorough as it has been some weeks....... :(

From OSH

Blasted cockerel was up and crowing when hubby got up at 6 to go to work. He'll have to make his tea in the dark :lol:

From Claret

OSH, my friend specialises in making her morning coffee in the dark and without raising her head above the work surface in the kitchen - if they spot her, a whole chorus starts!:roll:

That's so funny. I was only joking but now perhaps not :lol::lol::lol:

(sorry had to do it this way as weather 5 is locked)

We have had days of cold wet weather. Every where is sodden.

Snow forecast today and later on in the week. Friday night -8c is forecast and -10c on Sunday night.

Off to buy extra thermal undies and welly socks from Aldi tomorrow and stock up on food for all the Human, furry or feathered members of the family.

-1deg here and a thick frost, felt much colder though. Bright at the moment, but clouding over; a dusting of snow is forecast for tonight and through to the end of the week.

Logs up by the house, hound is wearing her jumper and all my thermals are out.

After the fiasco earlier this year - road froze again (on a hill) and an ambulance couldn't get up it - we now have a council grit bin at the end of the road by the park. :D After years of problems and not being able to move our cars when it freezes, this is a joy for us.

Betty hates the cold, She flew out of the coop this morning then puffed up like a puffer fish!

She became VERY ill last winter so i have covered to run and put bedding down a little earlier this year,

She also has a coat if she gets really cold. :boohoo:

Trust me to have the only chicken that can't cope with cold weather.

-2 this morning and still white everywhere now. I was freezing in bed and had to get up at 2am to get warm pj's and my Beddy bear brrrr.

It is lovely and sunny here at the moment, but we have a dusting of snow forecast maybe overnight into tomorrow.

YD is going on a theatre trip tomorrow evening after school up to Birmingham, she will not be back until 11pm, I am a bit worried after that horrible coach crash last winter. Hopefully the school will take a sensible view on it if the weather turns bad. :anxious: We told her that she couldn't book another one which they are doing in January because of potential bad weather.

It's still cold here too Liz, and frost still in the shade.

I was in the garden at lunchtime putting the chickens in and taking the dog for a widdle - it was lovely in the sun 8) The sun is currently streaming in through my office window and I've had to open the window as it's too hot.

Rosie is very excited about the prospect of snow - I am too as i don't have to drive to work.
