stoice
Glad my girls are looking after me on the egg front and that I bake my own cakes too. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-12133402

Charlottechicken
It's beyond me why we need to import eggs anyway Exactly This has really hit the fan now. According to certain newspapers they are ditching food off the shelves. It appears to be in supermarket own brand items like party cakes and quiche. The Dogmother
It's beyond me why we need to import eggs anyway Exactly! Same goes with meat, we export a lot of our own and then buy in meat from places like NZ - go figure.... But that's another rant entirely! Imported, battery produced, foreign eggs are cheaper as an ingredient than our UK eggs - so much for scruples then!
Snowy
It appears to have been used by Samworth brothers in their cornwall factory. Tesco and Morrisons cakes and quiche mainly.

Alis girls
Have to say it makes sense to me to have your own hens - I rarely buy cake except occ for birthday parties when sons want a Man U (boo hiss) cake which is beyond my capabilites
Angie
This was the main reason i gave my family for getting my own chickens. My DD,SIL got their chickens a few weeks after me and they haven't bought eggs for months. DD even started baking before christmas using her own eggs. I just strongly objected to the drugs that are fed to the poultry whose eggs i was eating... .....as an arthritic OA/RA /FM,I take enough drugs..i don't want more in my food....... ......And my eggs are just fab...
