Alis girls Posted January 29, 2011 Share Posted January 29, 2011 Enjoying my baking in the kitchen this morning when I was alarmed to hear the girls screeching for me - its the sound all chicken mums and dads dread - the sound of a PREDATOR. Translated their cries are "MuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuM, Muuuuuum, Muuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuum, ............................................ come quick bok bok BOK - MUuuuuuuuuuuuu where are you? Theres a a a a ............................................." so I shot out ready to do battle with a fox or worse and what do I find .................. a little robin - darting about on one of their bushes. The blackbirds and robins line up in the morning when I come out with the cockerel to let the hens out. He's not bothered either. After a night apart all he wants is a leg over ( is that allowed?) and while he's chasing his girls about the local pheasant pops in for a bite of Garvo. I was out with them the other day and they have this once place where they love to dust bathe and Ermy spotted a blackbird there and she ran/flew across the garden to chase it off her spot and then she had a bit of a scrat.
