percy049
hope this is ok putting this up, but has anyone else got this new chicken magazine? it is really good, with loads of great pictures. great for beginners, and have a website. Also, i thought that you would like to know that we are picking up 3 hens next saturday; most probably a light sussex, speckeldy and a bluebelle. I will put plenty of pics up! chuckmum6
I tried the new magazine and found it very light on content to be honest! I find practical poulty much better! I would agree, but it was an ok light read in the bath! I like any chicken mags though.

NannyOgg
If you have fairly young children, 'Your Chickens' is good, it's got a kids club and the whole magazine is easy enough for children to read. For myself, I also find Practical Poultry much better, but at least this way, I get a chicken mag, and so do the kids

Chortle Chook
When this new chicky magazine first came out I wasn't sure how they'd keep it going as it seems really just for beginners and children but I've just read the April issue and really enjoyed it. It still has the lovely pictures and now seems to have a lot more info too. That's two magazines a month to keep me smiling and OH poor now
staceychristie
It'll get better I'm sure - they're still finding their feet. Got Mrs BHWT on board, so it's going in the right direction Stacey
Chortle Chook
With Mrs BHWT on board things will be good. Seems there is quite a gap in the market for something readable for those of us who are neither show people nor small holders but are nevertheless intellegent enthusiasts. Alis girls
i got my first "Practical Poultry" today - cant wait to get stuck in. Usually have House Beautiful and Country Living and the odd trashy mag with headlines like "our dog eloped with next doors cat" and such like if I'm feeling superficial. I will look out for this. Chortle Chook
I have to admit that Your Chicken and Practical Poultry have taken the place of Country Living and even Your Dog
