coco
I have three new girls arrived today. they are A Rhode Island red, Cream Frizzle and a Cream Legbar and a partridge Silkie bantam, she's not stopping though she is going to live with a freind of mine. I got all four for the bargain price of £15.00, I couldn't leave them there now could I. Any suggestions for names.
jellykelly
I'd name them after the 'Golden Girls' - Dorothy, Rose, Blanche, Sophia.

BocBoc
I like both suggestions!! Where on earth did you get chickens at that price?! I'd love a Frizzle, that breed is definitely on my wish list...right at the top!!
coco
They were on preloved. Too be honest I don't thnk the people had any idea about chickens, when I asked what breeds they were they said, fluffy footed, blue egg layer and normal brown one. They were in a very small pen with no water and not much food. I think the Frizzle is going to be called Fifi as she reminds me of an apricot poodle. daxigirl
Wow that was good, I'm sure they'll think they've gone to heaven living at your house. My name sugestion is for the cream legbar. Golly (Gosh) as I think that they have such surprised expressions with their hair dos. I always think mine is saying "golly gosh how did that egg get up my bum!" craftyhunnypie
I once 'rescued' some silkies off preloved. I say rescued as they were in a state. Their home was very muddy & the lady kept them shut in their house rather a lot. I then discovered Sandy had a foot problem. I thought it was very bad scaly leg - but it wasnt. It is severe deformity & lots of growths on her feet. I am sure it is through neglect - as did the vet. She gets around fine & is even a mummy. Her chicks are perfect - so it wasn't anything in her genes. Poor love. I love her & was so glad I rescued her. Her offspring have gone on to produce young of their own too now. Chortle Chook
Last hear I got a Silkie in exactly the same state. She came from very overcrowded conditions and was kept permanently in the dark. Like you, craftyhunnypie, I thought that her poorly leg must be a bad condition of scaly leg but it turned out to be a deformity. She too is hale and hearty now and just loves her grub. I named her Doodle.
coco
TBH they all seem really healthy if maybe a bit on the skinny side. We have decided on names for them, we have Fifi the buff Frizzle, Saffron the legbar and Scarlett for the Rhode Isalnd Red. The little silkie has gone to live with a freind of mine who has sablepoots, pekins and chamois polish. The silkie was tiny and I thought she would have been bullied by my bigger girls. I wil try and get pics when they have settled in. Thanks for all the name ideas.
