WitchHazel
Delilah, the last of my 3 original hens, died whilst dustbathing under the pampas grass. She was a gorgeous Bluebelle, a bit under 4 years old. She'd been slowing down a lot over the last few weeks, although was always bright and alert, so we've been expecting it. It was still a shock to find her, and I' afraid I stood in my garden blubbing like a baby. 'Lilah really was a lovely looking girl, and I'll miss her. Dolly
So sorry to hear about your girl. Sounds like she had a long and happy life with you. And don't worry about the blubbing, I cried for days when I lost my girls, they really are part of the family.

WitchHazel
Thanks everyone, your comments really help. I'm OK now. We had been partly expecting it, so I'd had plenty of Delilah time over the last couple of weeks and made sure she got the best treats, so I feel I had time to say goodbye IYSWIM Thanks again
