Hi. We recently bought a poultry net from 'Knowle nets' It can't be electrified but it is perfect for us! For 30m, cost us £25 inc p&p, and was delivered within 2 days! Really good price and good service. Only problem was it didn't come with poles so we used bamboo sticks ha ha. Seems to be working fine! And the netting is quite thin so doesn't stand out like a sore thumb. For some this probably isn't ideal because you don't get poles, a gate, not electrified etc but for us it's perfect. Will post some pictures tomorrow :)

We got the poultry netting (the one thats 51p) and got it a meter high. We wanted to put the net up asap so just used bamboo canes that were in the garage! They are only temporary though.. but I quite like them haha, and I can't think of any other kind of pole. I just cut a slit in the top of the pole and hooked the net through, then pinned it into the ground with a tent peg.

All together cost about £30 for 30meters, so I'm happy :D

I posted this almost 3 years ago and the netting is still in great condition (apart from a hedgehog getting tied up in it last year...). I'd definitely recommend Knowle nets.

Sadly both our girls in the pic have passed on...

I've just been looking at Knowles Nets based on previous posts and trying to work out what to use for poles too.

Plum, those black metal poles in Wickes are nice and sturdy but (assuming I'm looking at the same thing) are now £3.05 each so it soon adds up or did you see some different (cheaper) ones?

I suppose it depends how determined the chickens are to escape as to whether bamboo canes will do the job - might try them first.

Thanks Lewis - & thank you for the advice on them :)

Looks great kissinup - just hope a hedgehog doesn't get caught in our net, we get quite a lot of them in the garden. I think I'll keep the bamboo - I think it looks less conspicuous than poles.

Scarlettohara - We ordered Length=30m, Width=1m. So width is height... not sure why they don't just say height

When I got my poles from Wickes they were probably in a sale and it was a year or two ago. The netting is u"Ooops, word censored!"trusive and the girls can't get through it. I use bamboo canes as well and use a paper clip poked in top which isn't ideal really, I think I shall cut a split. :D
