stomper236
Hi eveyone, just looking for a little advice. this is my first post on hear hope i do it right. One of my girls ( 1 year old hybrid) suffered with a huge impacted crop a few weeks back, I took her into the house and put her on a starvation diet, she was sryinged with water and olive oil each day.her lump did go down considerably so we didnt have to do the dreaded operation.she was reintroduced back with the other girls and is very fit and active and even started laying again. the trouble is she still has a very small flat golfball size lump in her crop, this dosnt bother her apart from the odd neck shake, I was wondering is it ok to just leave her and hope it goes down? can she still live with this with no risk? hope you can help thanks Edited April 3, 2011 by Guest
Space Chick
Have you tried feeding her live maggots? As these have been known he help. It's sounds like you have done well for her with the water and olive oil
Plum
I would do as Debs says and carry on with oil or maggots. If it stays it could ferment and give her problems. Do you think it could be an object rather than a collection of things making the disc.
stomper236
thanks guys,i will try the live maggots, the disc does seem flexible when massaged so i think it may be a collection of material rather than a solid object, thanks again
staceychristie
Used Maggots and olive oil with great success. Grit is often overlooked - as this helps break down food. Try to keep them of long blades of grass , one of ours pooped what looked like rope! It turned out to be lots of grass neatly plaited into a cord 2" long!!!!!! Good luck Stacey
fluffypigs
Hi, I just wondered what the outcome was with your impacted crop as i've got something that sounds exactly as you described (well obviously not me personally but one of my girls).
