You are right lots of Pekins! :)

This is my first year of hatching anything.

Nearly 6 weeks old

2 Silver Laced Wyandotte (1 girl, 1 boy)

1 Very dark blue/black Pekin (girl)

1 Creamy/buff/salmon Pekin (boy)

There were 2 Lav Pekins and 1 Blue Pekin in this hatch that were all boys

2 week old

5 Lemon Millefleur Sabelpoots

2 Pyle Dutch bantams

3 Salmon Faverolles (think 1 girl and 2 boys but not certain yet)

24 Pekin eggs in the incubator set on Wednesday

I have also purchased 3 Pyle Dutch (now 3 weeks old), a pair of Pyle Dutch now 8 weeks old and a pair of Porcelain sabelpoots now 8 weeks old.

I'm not sure how quite this chicken maths adds up as I lost two of my layers at the beginning of the year so I got 3 more layers and then started on this hatching!

I hatched some Sablepoots & Silkies early in February then decided to leave the rest for my broodies. They've taken forever to go broody! It's day 6 now for some bantam Wyandottes, a couple of Pekins, LF salmon Faverolles and LF blue partridge Brahmas. The eggs are in the incy but Bridget will be taking charge of a good chunk of them tomorrow night. I'm hoping Tiger will agree to take the bantam eggs. Bridget & Francesca usually go broody together but Francesca hasn't come into lay yet this year so she'll end up going it alone when she does go broody, I'll probably give her more Brahmas.

Both my hatches this year have been Pekins.

5/5 over Easter Weekend. Mum is a gold partridge pekin, Dad is a black/gold frizzle.

Then last weekend the second lot hatched, just 2/6 this time. Different Mum, same Dad.

My money would be on girl - boy - probably girl :?

I've only had one broody so far, which has thwarted my plans! So I have just seven bantam chicks aged two weeks which are:

3 x Silver Sussex x Cuckoo Marans (one boy, two girls I think)

4 x Mulberry Blues (at least one girl but I'm not sure about the other three yet).

Latest update here

If my strangely unbroody Sylv goes broody in the next two weeks, I'd like to hatch some Silver Sussex and RIR bantams, but if not, I'll wait patiently until next year.

Girl - Boy - Possibly girl, but them wattles look red. My Pekin cross is a lot bigger in his wattles, but he's only 4 wks! I'll post a pic when i have one. :)

Wow - such a lot of hatcing! :D Do you keep them all?

Nope, the girls i will sell, and the boys, i have a few homes lined up. :anxious:

This year I have hatched silkies in blue, black, gold, partridge and white. Cream legbars. Cochins. Bantam lavender araucana and have 52 eggs in the incubator more of the above as well as some millefluer pekins and silver laced wyandottes. Hoping to hatch some cukoo silkies later in the year (if my hen starts to lay). :D
