Daily Mail article. Is it you?!

Recommended Posts

This all just goes to show how different we all are; some prefer a more minimalist approach where others like to buy all the latest goodies... and all shades of grey in between those two extremes.

Equally, some folk are more pragmatic about their flock while others like to pamper them. Believe me, I hear all sorts in the course of my day and I can honestly say that nothing ever surprises me any more... including chickens being brought in to snuggle upon the sofa and watch TV! I don't think that 'class' comes into it either.

I suspect that the Mail article was written specifically to provoke such debate, and has certainly driven up the hits to their site.

Absolutely! The world would be so dull if everyone was the same :)

Doesn't seem like she gave much thought to being a chicken owner, found it bizarre that she said she also then got a dog to keep foxes away (poor dog, such high expectations for it and ends up getting wound up by the chickens anyway). However, perhaps she was trying to write the article from an ironic point of view.

If the daily mail said they're coming to your house to take a photo of you to go on their website and in the paper, you wouldn't think about holding a chicken for 5 minutes, you'd think about the millions of people that would see your photo and dress your best

I have to own up that I appeared in our local rag many years ago, when not many folk kept chickens in their gardens  The photographer wanted to take the photos to go with the 'phone interview during my lunch break one week day, it was pouring with rain that day so I had to bring one of the chickens indoors and have an old tea towel on my lap so that she didn't poo on my work clothes

Never been dressed so smartly for chicken wrangling in my life

I read this article in the early hours of Wednesday morning (couldn't sleep as I was laid in hospital recovering from a very nasty insect bite). I just thought this lady obviously hasn't got a clue . Reminded me of the type of people that buy a puppy and then get rid of it because it keeps weeing on the carpet :roll: .
