patsylabrador
I think it should be good Friday night. Anyone with better info please say so I'm not sure. I sit out every year and even on cloudy nights with all the light pollution it's exciting. Anyone with small children should let them sit up with cocoa & sleeping bags to watch them. That's because I didn't know about them when my kids were small and that's what I would have done!
Griffin
Yes we're quite a sight in the garden, all wrapped up warm laying on the sun loungers looking upwards My girls love that sort of thing.
Valkyrie
Love it. DD said she saw one a few nights ago. I remember OH and I sitting in the back garden on deckchairs wrapped up snug watching the meteors when I was expecting DS.
snowberry
Yup, Eldest's birthday is on Monday, so I never forget it! The kids love it!
The Dogmother
Thanks for the reminder, I either hang out of the Velux windows in the attic or take the van out into the countryside to watch them.
Valkyrie
I hope the clouds clear - typical if we get rain on the best night.
Old Speckled Hen
EVERY year since I moved up here where light pollution is negligible and you can see the milky way on a clear night it has rained when the Perseids do their show. I hate all of you that can see them
The Dogmother
I've only seen them once too, but usually manage to catch the Leonids. There's a full moon this weekend which will make spotting the Perseids a bit more difficult
Valkyrie
OSH!!! Not a meteor - best I can do though

Valkyrie
You just have to imagine it whooshing though seeing as you already see stars!
Purplemaniacs
If it is clear we will have a look tonight, OH back tonight he loves things like this. We do not have any street lights in our little village so it is good for star gazing Thanks Chrissie
Benaberry
thank you for the reminder - I manage to forget most years Would be nice if we get clear skies now that I've actually remembered to look for them
Chook n Boo Mum
It's cloudy If i didn't have an after-migraine head, I would drag a duvet & chair out into the garden, maybe next time Sha x
Lesley
We're due a lot of cloud and rain from midnight onwards
Griffin
I sat outside for half an hour with the dogs and an alcoholic beverage but didn't see anything interesting.
The Dogmother
Nor me; I looked when I took the dogs down the garden about 10pm, nothing to see and a very bright full moon. Sky was clearing but we had rain over night. I shall try again tonight which is supposed to be the peak time. Hope your head is better Sha
Purplemaniacs
Oh and I had a look but there was a tiny patch of sky without cloud We will try again tonight. Chrissie
squiffs
Peak was at 6am this morning - and we've got a full moon coming now so the light from that will make it very hard to spot them.
Chook n Boo Mum
Heads a bit better thanks Clare .......so is it worth toddling out again tonight or not?
The Dogmother
I shan't make a special effort but will have a good look from the garden later, or the top windows. If it looks really promising or is clear then I might drive out away form the town centre.
