I think it should be good Friday night. Anyone with better info please say so I'm not sure. I sit out every year and even on cloudy nights with all the light pollution it's exciting. Anyone with small children should let them sit up with cocoa & sleeping bags to watch them. That's because I didn't know about them when my kids were small and that's what I would have done!

Yes we're quite a sight in the garden, all wrapped up warm laying on the sun loungers looking upwards My girls love that sort of thing.

Love it. DD said she saw one a few nights ago. I remember OH and I sitting in the back garden on deckchairs wrapped up snug watching the meteors when I was expecting DS.

Yup, Eldest's birthday is on Monday, so I never forget it! The kids love it!

Thanks for the reminder, I either hang out of the Velux windows in the attic or take the van out into the countryside to watch them.

EVERY year since I moved up here where light pollution is negligible and you can see the milky way on a clear night it has rained when the Perseids do their show.

I hate all of you that can see them

I've only seen them once too, but usually manage to catch the Leonids.

 

There's a full moon this weekend which will make spotting the Perseids a bit more difficult

If it is clear we will have a look tonight, OH back tonight he loves things like this. We do not have any street lights in our little village so it is good for star gazing

We're due a lot of cloud and rain from midnight onwards

I sat outside for half an hour with the dogs and an alcoholic beverage but didn't see anything interesting.

Nor me; I looked when I took the dogs down the garden about 10pm, nothing to see and a very bright full moon. Sky was clearing but we had rain over night. I shall try again tonight which is supposed to be the peak time.

Peak was at 6am this morning - and we've got a full moon coming now so the light from that will make it very hard to spot them.

I shan't make a special effort but will have a good look from the garden later, or the top windows. If it looks really promising or is clear then I might drive out away form the town centre.
