Long Johns for teens (yes really)

Recommended Posts

ES 15 has announced he wants long johns for the winter as all his mates have them and school is cold in winter and hot in summer (bit like my work). Anyone found any good quality ones I can tumble dry in bad weather. My Grandad use to wear them and the only people I come across who wear them are the elderly and people from warmer climes. I have to say I roared with laughter. Hes such a trendy so and so.

If you google them, you get loads of hits. Best places to try are the mountaineering/camping shops.

Agreed, I too have thermal long johns (!) they are fantastic when out walking my dog on a very cold day. Mine were from Milletts, not overly expensive, I've had them a few years now and they have been washed and tumble dried plenty and are still going strong!

M&S , Go outdoors, mountain wharehouse, and ski shops sell lovely silk ones in varying thermal ratings a bit pricey though, Asda sell them and socks....and they wash and wear my grandchildren all wear them. Their favorites are from mountain wharehouse as there are a choice of colours.

DS aged 19 bought thermal long johns and thermal long sleeved vests from Matalan this time last year. I think they were about £6 each. Really good quality and washed and dried really well. If they did an XS size I would have bought sets for me as the womens style I bought from there didn't wash and wear so well.

Thanks everyone - i actually saw some in Tesco today - £10 delighted he is. But will keep a look out elsewhere in case need a wash and a wear. I did point out to him that er mens bits needed to be kept cooler for fathering babies (in later life) he said if he gets frostbite he wont be a dad and when the time comes he'll make sure they get an airing  Point taken - i do want to be a gran one day :D
