what to do with cube run, sell or keep

Recommended Posts

Hi all, we have put the other cube in the end of my wir and covered the roof so my pekins will have a dry area in the winter. This leaves me with a dilema of what to do with the run and extension. Having just paid a small fortune for it all i am reluctant to sell but then again will i ever use it again?! I much prefer to have the cube in a wir as i find it easier but if we ever moved house would i find the run handy? What to do, any ideas please! Have any of you sold your runs and then regretted doing so?

As both ends of the cube run are straight (as opposed to the Eglu run which has slanted ends) its very useful for butting up against a fence or walk in run to use as emergency accomodation. if you get another door panel you could have it as a standalone run even

I'd keep it as its so versatile. In saying that they do make good money secondhand

I would keep it but then I am a hoarder  I am sure you would get a good price on ebay due to your location. I don't think that applies up here as I managed to get a classic run extension for under £5 on ebay! I have hoarded that away as I don't really need it just now but you never know

i have a classic and when i moved it into the wir it became redundant but a friend at work wants to keep chickens and to keep the price down she was going to buy a classic with no run and offered to buy mine off me but she also has plans for a wir in the very near future so i told her rather than sell it to her i told her she could borrow it until she gets sorted out with the wir i just dont want to let mine go you never know when you might need it for an emergency not only that it is a nice piece of kit that could be used again :):):)

I dismantled my Classic run and used a few of the panels as makeshift garden protectors. The hens have started raking up the area beneath the apple tree, where I had primroses and cowslips self seeding and where all our hamsters are buried, so the panels are now a makeshift anti-digging devices. The panels aren't exactly flat, but the green mesh melts in with the rest of the lawn and the hedge, so from the house you cannot see that they are there.

I'll use the rest of it as quarantine/introduction section if the hens get ill.
