Flaming June and sodden July

Recommended Posts

Oh my word....this weather!!

It is as black as pitch outside, raining stair rods and the hens are wearing life jackets.

The garden is like the Great Lakes, with Superior just outside my back door, I have to row across it to get to the hens!

To add insult to injury, I left my wellies outside a couple of days ago and they have water in them easily to the half way mark. They'll be ruined. What a nuisance.....I'll have to get some Croc Wellies now. Damn.

oh damn. That sounds heartbreaking, new croc wellies!

Not so bad here, no lakes just a bit of rain last night and 3 soggy hens. Sun is shining this morning though!

Oh what a shame! - new Crocs wellies

There's a great walk along the North Shore of Lake Superior :D - i have a cousin who lives near Grand Portage, at the top of the lake :D

....not so nice when it's in your back garden though :(

Carl had to drive home through floods last night - not usually a problem in his Freelander - but he'd just collected my Mini from a service :? The news said that the M40 around our area had big problems with flooding yesterday afternoon and Warwick and Leamington were flooded, shops won't be opening this morning. Carl couldn't come the normal way home, the island by the dealership was flooded so he had to go the long way home.

The rain last night woke me up several times, but there's not too much flooding here, mind you, we are halfway up a hill, and i haven't been to look at the Cherwell yet - that always bursts its banks

Heard on t'wireless this morning about floods and roads closed all over the place though - seems that we were lucky here.

It's bright but cloudy up here - it's been a fairly miserable week, apart from Monday, which was a gorgeous scorcher of a day - juts as well i got all my washing out and dried on Monday, or it would be meeting me at the fron door now!

The play ground at school is flooded today, & this afternoon it is the school summer fayre :?

I used to have a poster up in my bedroom called "Flaming June" . It also had been used as the cover of a Malcolm Mclaren album that me & boyfriend at the time used to always listen to in the car. I still have it on tape

Our garden is under water  It has rained for days, last night was really bad.

It is sunny at the moment but the sky is blackening as I type :(

Jules sports day this afternoon, she was in the egg and spoon race, I think that has been changed to the 100m front crawl :?

I hope the water in the garden goes down as we have new arrivals this afternoon, complete with purple eglu :D

I don't fancy building the run in the rain :(

All we seem to get is a light summer shower. It has been close and sticky most of the week, though not actually hot. It's sunny at the moment.

I heard the trains into Rugby weren't running this morning because of floods.

We've actually been dry most of the week but very chilly. The band of heavy rain has been moving north all morning (I've been watching it on the met radar) and its just started raining now.

Wee Anna is a bridesmaid tomorrow at Myres Castle, near St. Andrews so I hope the weathers nice. She's so excited to be staying in the castle with her cousins (not me, I'm staying in converted stables down the road  ).

No rain here..............beautiful sunshine....................but you wouldn't expect anything else from the sunshine capital of the UK :wink::D:D

Hope the weather remains nice as my son is off to a beach party and bbq after school ( no contingency plan if it rains so I'm not sure what 20 x 15 years olds will do or more worringly who's house they will end up at :anxious: :anxious: )

Hope those of you with rain don't get washed away...................didn't look good on the lunchtime news

It is so dark here now all our street-lights have come on

It is absolutely pouring with rain, thundering and lightening

It's quite scary, I wish I was at home, not good driving conditions :(

We have distant thunder here, with the odd flash every now and then. My rain gauge was full to overflowing overnight, I emptied it yesterday at 8pm when it was full (over 40ml) from the previous 24 hours, however this morning it was overflowing again, meaning we have had over 40ml of rain in 11 hours :roll:

It is very muggy here too. :?

Sheffield has been like that for the past 48 hours.

The hens are playing out now....but I'm sure they have got trench foot!

It is spitting a bit but haven't seen the sun since Wednesday.

It's just awful.....I'm dying to get out in the garden......serious Cabin Fever imminent!
