Cate in NZ
I'd ike a heatwave all the time - tropical bird, me! Me too Clare I can't complain, compared to the weather the rest of the country seems to be experiencing we're actually getting off very lightly down here, only 1 day of heavy rain (Saturday) otherwise it's cool and cloudy with a few showers but not too bad at all really. It just doesn't feel no June, no warmth, no sunshine, and I live for my summers It's nearly July, please, please let July be better
Guest
So what's it like in NZ then? Would that be better (and it's winter there)?
Charlottechicken
Enjoy your day off Claire It is freezing here as well, we had our heating on last night it was so cold It's the end of June for goodness sake The only upside is, it's not raining........yet Thanks Debs, still working though, I am helping the manager try to contact a member of staff, lots of frantic phone calls and emails! I put the heating on as soon as I got home this morning, I can't go out as the builders working on the house next door are cutting bricks and there is dust and brick splinters everywhere Never mind they finish early, I hope! Egluntyne
B*m and Bu**er! (Self moderated!) Had just decided to do a bit of tidying up in the garden, jacket and wellies just put on and it has started to rain again. Aaarrrrgggh! Its doing the diagonal stair rod thingy. Drat and double drat. With k"Ooops, word censored!"s on.
Cate in NZ
So what's it like in NZ then? Would that be better (and it's winter there)? Good question Ginette, and a reminder that next year will be a year of 2 winters for me....... and 2 springs, but no summer at all Please sun start shining, I need 2 years worth of summer I know it's cold & snowing at the bottom end of South island today, well yesterday (it's just turned midnight there now) but North Island rarely goes below 10 degrees even in winter, so probably similar temperatures. They do get a lot of rain there though .
The Dogmother
It's so cold here that I put the heating on at work this morning. The black clouds are gathering again, the wind is getting up.... I understand that we're forecast bad weather again on Saturday. I hope that Sunday is better though 'cos we're at Stoneleigh show for Omlet. Charlottechicken
It's so cold here that I put the heating on at work this morning. Ours is turned off on 1st May, it has been bitterly cold in the office, and someone stole my thermometer Oh Egluntine, I cannot believe you have rain again Hope it drains away this time Stay safe up there. The Dogmother
That's not fair Claire I bet one of the bosses stole it so that you can't complain about the cold
Guest
We have black skies and heavy rain It was lovely and sunny yesterday, but freezing cold
Guest
We had black clouds and I thought we were in for heavy rain, but it's bright again now. Still cloudy though and really cold for the time of year.
Charlottechicken
That's not fair Claire I bet one of the bosses stole it so that you can't complain about the cold I thought that at the time, but that level of slyness is probably beyond them! It was a works one so I reported it too, just in case they think I am sad enough to want a government issue thermometer in my house! I must remember to take one in from home (and keep it locked away at night ) The trouble is, if the temperature is too low there is nothing you can do about it. My team were in a basement room (north facing too) in 2003 and it was 14 degrees in summer, as we watched people walk past outside in shorts and t shirts, because it was about 30 degrees outside We were in our boots and gloves By the time we moaned enough to get horrible heaters, it was October and the heating came on again. Bloomin' Government don't care about their staff! Debs don't send that rain down here............PLEASE!
The Dogmother
We've just had very dark clouds and a very heavy shower, still raining now and cold too. I want to go home and dive under the duvet to keep warm
Guest
Debs don't send that rain down here............PLEASE! It only rained for about half an hour, it's bright again now I love how you can get an immediate weather forecast on this forum for most parts of the country

Guest
It looks so autumnal outside, all the leaves are blowing off the trees PS I'm ignoring your snow comment Clare, I heard them mention snow on the weather forecast for some of the higher areas in Scotland this morning On a slightly brighter note I am looking forward to July 1st as there will be no more smoking in public places

starboyhull
I will have to agree with you both on that one......I guess we have been quite mean to our friends who smoke , but its gave us a few smiles.....
Guest
For purely selfish reasons, it will be so lovely to go out for a meal/drink etc and not smell of smoke afterwards Sorry smokers out there, but I hate the smell

sam42
It's been dry here all day and I have just about managed to get some gardening done so it looks less like a jungle now. But big black clouds are appearing overhead. Agree with Claret the duvet looks like a great option.
Egluntyne
It brightened up a bit at around 3.30, so I managed to get an hour or so in the garden. Mostly shifting mud. I am aware of my stomach muscles now! Every so often the clouds parted and I noticed one of these Anyone any idea what it might be?
