Ebay dilemma

Recommended Posts

I bought a Fat Face tunic top on Ebay on 10th October. It was very nice but just a bit too long and clingy so I decided to sell it on.

I was packing it up to post when I noticed a tiny hole in the side. I offered the winning bidder a total refund or £2 off if she still wanted it. She said she'd sew it up so was happy with that.

She's now said when she sat down to mend the hole, she found 5 more holes  . I've obviously said I'll give a full refund and her P&P costs. She's quite happy.

So ..... a month on and after giving positive feedback, should I bother contacting the original seller? She may deny she knew the holes were there but do I have a case? Or should I just forget it - it was only £11 inc P&P.

If you do give a refund, do you still have to pay all of the eBay costs?

I made a mistake with something I recently sold and worked out it would cost me around £20 in fees and they wanted a refund :?

I offered £20 back and they accepted, but if they didn't and I gave a full refund, would I have to pay the fees or would they get refunded also?

(sorry didn't mean to hijack, can't help with your query, sorry!)

I would put this down to experience  The origianl seller may not have even noticed it. Put it behind you life is far to short. :D

You could contact eBay,it would go through the process of investigation,& you may get a refund.

I assume you have already left feedback for the seller? In which case you were satisfied at the time & you were at fault (in eBays eyes) for not thoroughly checking it upon receipt.

I would take this one on the chin,personally....leaving feedback shows your satisfaction & the completion of the transaction between you both.

I think given that you didn't notice all the holes it is quite possible that the original seller didn't. If someone contacted me after a month I'd probably think they had worn it or left lying somewhere that allowed it to get damaged. I'm afraid it is put it down to experience. Very annoying though.
